Azerbaijan is a hidden jewel nestled between Turkey, Russia and Iran. An oil rich country, Azerbaijan is a perfect blend of the east and the west and is known for both its dazzling modern architecture and beautiful terrains.

From burning mountains to mud volcanoes, to ancient temples and mosques to futuristic buildings, Azerbaijan is welcoming and a lovely country to tour. The Caucasus Mountains stretch majestically in the north while there is the gentle Caspian sea on the other end. Azerbaijan is a unique place for us to visit.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Baku

On arrival at Baku Airport, you will be welcomed by our local guide and escorted to the hotel. After the check-in formalities, the afternoon is for your own to explore and take a stroll alongside the banks of the Caspian Sea which borders it. Baku is an eclectic mix of old style Parisian-style neighborhoods and futuristic buildings. Lunch at Indian Restaurant. Later, we take you on a trip for Highland Park, which offers great views of the city. If we are lucky we get to enjoy the trip on a funicular. We have dinner at an Indian Restaurant and then back to the hotel for the night.

Day 2 - Absheron Peninsula Tour

Post breakfast at the hotel, we will take you to visit Ateshgah Fire Temple and the Yanardag mountain (Burning Hill), Known as the temple of the three religions, Ateshgah has been a sacred place for Hindus, Sikhs and Zoroastrians. Built by Indians living in the area between the 17th and 19th centuries. After a guided tour of the temple we travel for 30 minutes to Yanar Dag mountains(Inset picture).  Literally translated as “burning mountain”, Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire which continuously blazes on the mountainside. Get spell bound by a natural phenomenon. Post lunch we will visit Haydar Aliyev cultural Center. After dinner, we will drop you back at the hotel for the night.

Day 3 - Gobustan National Park

In the morning, post breakfast, visit Gobustan National Park. Leaving city life far behind, just an hour later you get to see a UNESCO world heritage site. Famous for its rock paintings and history of the region right from the Stone Age to the middle ages. Admire rock carvings and paintings some of which are even 40,000 years old reflecting pre historic life. You will be amazed by the unique mud volcanoes which have medicinal qualities. We will also go to the  Bibi-Heybet Mosque.

Post lunch, we will visit Carpet Museum, where you will find some beautiful carpets displayed. Then for a bit of fun, we will visit the mini Venice of Baku.

Day 4 - Old City Tour & Shopping

Morning post breakfast, trip to old city. You will get to see the old and unique monuments of Baku. Stroll besides the old city walls, get to see the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a vast royal complex, and the iconic stone Maiden Tower. You can then shop in Ganijik Mall. Lunch and dinner at Indian Restaurant.

On this last day, post breakfast, after check-out, we will transfer to you to the airport to board the flight back home.
